Proven, Effective Termite Control & Protection

termite risk

Often we find Lowcountry homeowners are not fully aware of the risk termites pose to their homes. In South Carolina, the risk of termite exposure is extremely high, making termite treatments and protection absolutely necessary. Termite damage is not covered by your homeowner’s insurance policy even though termites are responsible for more damage every year than earthquakes, house fires, and hurricanes combined.

The Eastern Subterranean termite is the most common and most widely distributed termite in North America. A mature colony of Eastern Subterranean termites can range from a low of 60,000 to a high of one million workers, with an average of 300,000.

In addition to our native Eastern Subterranean termites, Formosan termites have become a major problem in the Lowcountry. This termite is one of the world’s most aggressive species, and they are more vigorous and aggressive than our native termites. A major reason for the destruction is the larger sizes of the average colony. In fact, the average colony can be anywhere from 350,000 to two million workers.

We use a variety of safe and effective products to protect against these wood-destroying insects: Termidor, Sentricon, Borate.
