In addition to our native Eastern Subterranean termites, Formosan termites have become a major problem in the Lowcountry. This termite is one of the world’s most aggressive species, and they are more vigorous and aggressive than our native termites. A major reason for the destruction is the larger sizes of the average colony. In fact, the average colony can be anywhere from 350,000 to two million workers.
